Enhancements Meeting - Approved
November 18, 2009
Time: 7:00 PM
Secretary: Linda Ross

The meeting was called to order in the Hal Bernsen Community Room at 7:05 p.m. by Richard Nadel, Chair.

 

In attendance: Bob Dager, Vicki Briskman, Richard Nadel, Bea Berman, Dorothy Allison, and Linda Ross, Excused absences: Kamesh Aysola,  Jelena Csanyi, and Michele Degaetano


The minutes of the October 21, 2009 meeting were approved as printed.

 

Stakeholder Comments/Announcements

None

 

Unfinished Business

Richard Nadel suggested writing a letter to Metro expressing our concern that they have not landscaped the front of the depot as promised. Bob Dager will write the letter.

 

New Business

The possibility of using the security person from Lawrence Middle School to patrol the perimeter of the Chatsworth Library after school was discussed. He would report back to the principal at Lawrence. The school will bill us, and then we will pay the school who will in turn pay the guard.

 

Vicki Briskman moved to spend an amount not to exceed $1200.00 to pay for a security guard to patrol the outside perimeter of the Chatsworth Public Library to keep students under control to lessen the annoyance of the neighbors. Dorothy Allison seconded. Adopted with Bea Berman abstaining.

 

The Public Safety and Transportation committee is working on establishing a room at the Devonshire station for children who have been taken from their homes for their own safety to stay in while awaiting pick up by the Dept of Social Services. The possibility of the enhancements committee donating money for this project was discussed.

 

The Public Safety and Transportation committee is working on putting up another speed sign on DeSoto  Councilman Smith's office will donate $5000. Sierra Canyon will pay $5000.if the Neighborhood Council will put up $5000.00. The possibility of the enhancements committee contributing was discussed,

 

The next meeting will be December 16 if needed.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
