Stakeholder Comments/Announcements

None

Unfinished Business

The letter to Metro, expressing our concern that they have not landscaped the front of the depot as promised, is on-hold pending actions by the CNC Board President. Bob Dager will keep track of the developments regarding the landscaping and report to this Committee.

New Business

Security person(s) from Lawrence Middle School to patrol the perimeter of the Chatsworth Library after school. DONE recommends doing this project as a "grant". This means extra paperwork and a different funding route than we usually use. A grant would give a lump sum of money to the school. Since the guards work directly for the school, we cannot pay them directly through an "invoice" process.

Vicki will investigate the procedures necessary for a grant.

Speed Sign for DeSoto Ave:

Committee discussion of this proposed project brought up several questions:

  • The unavailability of power in this area - necessitating a "solar power" sign?;
  • The advisability of using a "Signal Ahead" sign instead of a "Speed" sign;
  • The possibility of slowing traffic exiting from the West by posting a "Stop" sign at entrance of the off-ramp to DeSoto; (there already is such a stop sign for traffic entering DeSoto from the East)
  • The effectiveness and/or need for such a sign so close to a traffic-light controlled intersection.

These questions will be taken to the Board for discussion before this Committee considers further action.

The next meeting will be February 17th. 2010

The meeting was adjourned at 7:50 PM.

Bob Dager, Acting Secretary
